• Haruka stared at the young boy lying bedridden in the small hospital room, devoid of all emotion. "They're all useless..." She mumbled to herself.

"Haruka." Someone called from behind her.

"What do you want, Arashi?" Haruka spat irritably.

"It is time for us to leave." An older boy appeared behind her. He put his hand on her shoulder, but she slapped it away.

"I am not leaving!" Haruka shouted.

Arashi replied, "He is going to die. There is no way a human can survive those wounds."

"I know that." Haruka paused as if in deep thought. "Something does not feel right. This boy.... something will be left unfinished in his life."

"Yes, I believe he had a sister."

    "Had? Is she dead?"

    Arashi nodded. "She was murdered."

"I see... He devoted his whole life to find his sister's murderer." Haruka gnawed restlessly on her thumbnail. "My, my, I hate to leave things unfinished. Especially when human souls roam around in a forever incomplete life." A long silence collapsed upon the two companions. "I must find the murderer this boy had been seeking." She said suddenly.

"You cannot! Humans are not worth our time!" Arashi snapped.

Haruka turned away. "Obviously you care not about Chisaki." She exited the room hurriedly and swiftly stepped into the elevator.

Arashi called after her, "Haruka, I didn't mean--"

"I know what you meant." Haruka frowned as the elevator doors slid shut.

Haruka stepped out into the rain, pouring heavily down on the Earth. She looked up into the dark sky, the streets were deserted. As the rain soaked her clothes and long, dark hair, she hoped no one could see the tears streaming down her face. She bit her lip, trying to choke back her tears. "Chisaki..." Haruka whispered. "Why... why did you protect me...? I should've been the one to die on that day."
