• “Hey Miki, what’s wrong? You look tired; you didn’t even rush down to watch your drama yesterday…are you feeling sick?” Shiori asked as she felt my head. I was staring into space at the kitchen table, trying to eat my invisible breakfast. How could I eat? I was sick…sick of my past that keeps following me everywhere I go!
“Hmm, you don’t seem to have a fever…is something else wrong?” She waved a hand in front of my face. I sighed and grabbed my school bag and headed out the door.
“I’m fine” I said to Shiori and went on my way.
“Hey, everything okay? You didn’t answer any of my calls during the weekend, Shiori said you were sick?” Kei asked as I went down the sidewalk with him to school. Maybe I should stop seeing him; I don’t want anything bad to happen to him. And maybe…I should just stop seeing everyone here. I can definitely move back to my old school no problem…but I couldn’t stop the bullies from making their move on everyone that I’ve met here.
“I’m fine.” I smiled softly. Kei stopped in front of me suddenly.
“If you’re worried about that guy Takeru hurting you again, then don’t worry. I’m here for you alright?” Kei looked really serious right now. It wasn’t me who I was worried about; it was him and the others that I was concerned for.
“That’s sweet, thank you.” I smiled some more and we were on our way to school as usual. How could I tell him that Eru had gone into my room the other night? He would more than just pissed off, definetly. I sighed to myself as we entered the gates a minute later.
“Oh my Akane, are you sure that you’re alright?” I heard people say as Kei and I entered the classroom. Everyone spread out when I came through to see what was going on. I rushed down to my knees when I saw that Akane had a fractured leg.
“Akane…what happened?” I looked up slowly to face her.
“Ha-ha, I’m so clumsy that on my way home from club activities…I fell and hurt my leg.” She looked nervous for some reason…what the hell was she hiding from me? All I know is that this was only the beginning.

Throughout the week, things just didn’t go right from the day Akane had hurt her leg. Students that were only my acquaintance were getting involved as well. I tried staying away from my friends…but they just kept following me. Nothing had happened to Kei yet, and that’s just the way I wanted it to be.
“Miki, gym class is over so we’re all heading in.” Aya said. I had skipped gym class and hidden myself under a shaded tree to avoid anymore drama from happening.
“Oh okay, well I’ll see you in class then.” I smiled to Aya, who looked confused at this point. I had made more excuses for her, because we were best friends and I really wanted to protect her.
“Alright, I’ll see you then.” Aya nodded once, and jogged away to join the rest of the crowd. When she was out of sight, I got up and dusted myself off, and headed in.
“You look so familiar, you wouldn’t happen to have a twin brother huh? No? Well never mind it then. So you’re Mick’s new boy toy huh?” I heard someone say from nearby. So I went to investigate who it was. Hiding in some bushes, I sneaked a peak on Eru and Kei talking.
“What’s it to you?” Kei asked.
“Nothing really. It’s just that you outta be careful, she’s a real heartbreaker.” Eru smiled.
“You don’t know what you’re saying.”
“Oh I don’t, do I? I had the impression that I was the one who had dated her first. You’ve only known her for a short time. I on the other hand…have been her boyfriend way longer than you have.” Eru smiled his usual cocky smile. And knowing by Kei’s glare and clutching of his fists…he was getting irritated.
“You don’t want to love her; you just want to bully her too! I heard about your bullying you pulled to get her and how you ruined her life!”
“Ruined her life? I made it more interesting and happier.”
“Happier?! You practically tortured her!” Kei spit out.
“Is that what she’s been telling you?” Eru cocked his head sideways. My breath became unbearable at this point. Kei gave him a confused look, and I knew that Eru just couldn’t wait to continue his story.
“Hey!” I stepped in. I couldn’t let this go any farther than it was heading.
“Oh look, if it isn’t the little liar herself.” Eru smiled again. I gave him a glare.
“Eru, leave Kei out of this!” I glared.
“Now what makes you think I was going to harm him?”
“Oh yeah, that’s right! You make other people do your dirty work for you! Then you don’t feel as guilty as you should.” Eru began to laugh; I narrowed my eyes as he stepped forward. Automatically, Kei stepped in front of me. It was Eru’s turn to narrow his eyes. No one dare step in front of what he wanted.
“Kei may be able to protect himself, but how long will it last Miki? Remember what I said before. Your past can never be erased babe” Eru backed up slowly, and walked away, taking his sinister aura along with him. When he was finally out of sight, Kei turned to me angrily.
“What did he mean by all of that Miki? What is it that you’re hiding from me?!” Kei was definetly angry. And at this time, I didn’t have anything to say to him. All I could do was lower my head down. I could hear Kei sigh.
“Look…you don’t have to tell me now, but later okay?” Kei hugged me tightly. I hugged him back tightly.

“Goodbye.” I said to Kei at my doorstep after school.
“Bye.” Kei smiled, and kissed me on my cheek softly. A tear ran down my face, and I couldn’t stop it from escaping.
“Hey, why are you crying?” Kei asked.
“Sorry, I just really…” I looked up at him suddenly.
“You just really what?” He asked.
“Nothing.” I smiled to him. He smiled too, and kissed the top of my head, let go and waved goodbye. I was gonna say that I loved him…but that would just be too soon…and it would be too heartbreaking.
“Hey, how was your day?” Shiori asked when I walked in.
“It was okay.” I gave her a half-hearted smile.
“Are you sure?” She looked worried.
“Yeah, I’m just a little tired. So I’m gonna go take a shower and head for bed.” I said, and headed up to my room. After closing my door slowly shut, I made a call.
