The wolf ended up letting the rabbit go again. The rabbit had looked at him, as if hurt by the wolf letting him live longer. The rabbit stood there staring at him for maybe minute before he walked back into the living room to start cleaning again. 'Do I look sickly?' The rabbit thinks looking down at the floor, still hurt.
The wolf leaned against the wall and glared at the ground. Mad at himself for letting him go again. 'Why? Why do I keep doing this?'
The rabbit picks up the last dish and sighs. 'Maybe I should start panicing when he tries to eat me, like all the other animals probably did. Maybe he only gets hungry if his prey tries to get away... Should I ask?' The rabbit shook his head. 'No, that would be weird... I'm sure he would think the same.' The rabbit says walking into the kitchen where the wolf was still glaring at the floor. The rabbit walked past him and put the bowls down, not saying anything to him.
"Hey." The wolf calls.
The rabbit turned to him. "Yes?"
The wolf stands up straight and glares darkly at him. "Did you really run away? Or did you get kicked out of your village?"
The rabbit blinked. "Rabbits down get kicked out their village... The worst they do a criminal rabbit is cut off his tail. But rabbits aren't mean like wolves, we rarely break any laws." He explained.
The wolf was offened by the rabbits words and growled. "So, are you saying that rabbits are better than wolves?"
The rabbit shook his head, not frightened by the wolves warning. "No. I never said that. I ment that rabbits aren't so... violent. We're more calm. And we don't... eat people."
The wolf thought this over and agreed with the rabbit in his head. "Fine." He leaned against the wall again. "Whatever. Get back to work before I change my mind about taking you home." The wolf grumbled glaring the floor.
The rabbit nodded and turned to leave.
"Wait." The wolf said, not looking up from the floor.
The rabbit turned to him, yet again. "Yes?"
The wolf looked at his long sharp nails, dried blood under them along with his preys skin and few peices of their fur. "Why did you run away if you are going to right back to that place? Why don't you leave that place forever?"
The rabbit shrugged, smirking. "I don't know... I guess I was just being stupid and wasn't thinking straight. And, where would I stay if I did keep from that place?"
The wolf shrugged. 'Why do I care anyway?' The wolf thinks. 'And why the hell aren't I eating him!? He could be in my stomach right now!' The wolf thinks as his ears press against his head in frustration.
The rabbit saw his anger and smiled.
The wolf saw the rabbit's face move in the corner of his eye and looked at him. 'Why... is he smiling at me!?'
"You don't want me to stay here, now do you?" The rabbit asks, not teasing him or trying to cause a fuss for the wolf, he was asking an honost question.
The wolf blinked. "What? No!" The wolf glared at the him. "I would never have a fuz ball stay with me!"
The rabbit still smiled, he nodded. "I was just asking, Okami. I didn't mean to upset you."
The wolf growled and stared at the table clammered up with bloody plates. "Whatever."
The rabbit pointed behind him. "Can I go now?"
The wolf nodded once and growled again.
The rabbit walked into the living room and began folding up blankets and checked at least twice over for blood stains before piling them up on top of each other on the couch. The ones with blood stains were put down on the coffee table in front of the couch. Though the room was dull and smelt thickly of blood, the rabbit began to notice the good things about the room. It was large, it was open and there was always going to be sunlight coming into the room because of the fact that there was a east and west facing window. And now that the rabbit was here, maybe there would be more joy... Just maybe. He wasn't sure if he would live long enough to make a difference in the wolves life. 'Probably not.' He thought walking over to the windows and unlocking it.
The wolf walked in from the kitchen and leaned against the door frame. He watched the rabbit as he opened the window and then went to the other one, opening that one as well.
The rabbit sighed contently and whiped sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand. "There..."
The wolf was confused about the rabbit and couldn't help but want to ask him a few dozen questions, but he didn't. He just stood back and watched him, asking himself the questions instead.
The rabbit bent forward to pick something up.
The wolf licked his lips, seeing how well muscled his legs were and how good his posture was. 'He looks so good.' The wolf thinks.
