• High in the sky, several pigeons flew aimlessly around. The pigeons were as normal following their average gluttonous rice-hating days, all while they secretly plotted their world domination plans. For them life was simple. See food, smell food, peck food, eat foot, poop food, repeat till content. But sadly, pigeons were never truly-content, and so, depressingly, they lived rather sad lives.

But finally it seemed, Bob the pigeon was about to make a breakthrough in the world of pigeons. He had fallen in love with the she-pigeon Sally, and as he shyly plotted to ask for her hand in marriage, he was finally starting to feel the warm fuzzy glow of conten-

    THWACK

A single pebble pierced directly through the fluttering pigeons head, killing it instantly. Grimm was still bored. He was tired of aimlessly walking around with nothing to do. He needed to find some kind of entertainment before he lost his mind. That is if he hasn’t lost it already.

    “That wasn’t very nice.”

Grimm slowly looked down from the tree he was seated in to find his brother Rip staring up at him with a serious look on his face.

    “What do you want?”

“I’m here to finish what we started.”

Grimm jumped down from the tree, landing just a few feet away from Rip. A small smile creeped on his face as he thought about all the things he could do to his brother. Grimm wanted to make him scream. He wanted to see the pain in his eyes as he tortured him endlessly until he was begging for mercy. Just the thought of it made his skin crawl with anticipation, but he couldn’t figure out why, after all this time Rip would seek him out. It has been centuries since the last time they had faced each other and it ended in a draw.

“I see, but what I don’t understand is why.”

“You know why. You’re going mad Grimm. I’ve tried to ignore it but it’s clear that you’re a danger to yourself and everyone who comes in contact with. For years I’ve been making excuses for the crimes you’re committed, but in the end you’ve always proved me wrong . . . But it’s my fault that you’re like this. For leaving you alone in that horrible place for so long. I knew what it would do to you and I knew that it would have lasting effects but I never imagined that it would drive you insane. I’m sorry Grimm but its time for me to be responsible and stop you before you can do anymore harm to yourself or to the people around you.”

Grimm stood there with a blank expression on his face. He couldn’t believe what was coming out of Rip’s mouth. He laughed at the thought of him going mad, but then again it was very possible that he was insane but just didn't know it or he could be completely sane and just appear to be insane to everyone else even his brother.

"Sane or insane? Which one am I? Insanity can be defined in many ways – stupidity, mental incompetence, foolishness, and as nonsensical or absurd behavior. Insanity can also be defined as that which finds a way around what is reality or common sense, and therefore contradicts it. Do I contradict reality or common sense like the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland? Or do I just speak nonsense to confuse others around me? Do I show signs of absurd behavior or is this just the way I am?"

He took a few steps towards Rip. His dark eyes full of amusement as he gazed at his brother with a grin on his face.

“If I’m insane then wouldn’t that make you insane? I mean we are twins after all, identical in fact and because of this doesn’t that mean we share some of the same interests and desires? It doesn’t matter if you were raised in a loving and caring environment here on earth while I was left to rot in a slowly dying world where only the strong survive and the weak are at their mercy. We are still the same, meaning you’re just as insane as I am. The only difference is that you can hide it a little better than me.”

Sadness was clear on Rip’s face as he listened to his brother compare himself to him.

“You’re wrong Grimm, we’re nothing alike. We never were.”

“Are you telling me you’re willing to kill your own flesh and blood?”

“Yes I am. I’ll do whatever it takes, even if it kills me in the end.”

Grimm’s face held no emotion. His eyes we’re cold and distant. He didn’t know what to think. His brother, his only family, the only person he ever considered a friend wanted him dead and for what . . . a bunch of worthless low-lives he had killed over the years of his existence? Or was there something more to it? Either way he no longer cared. He had a feeling this day would come. When his brother would betray him. Now he just wondered what took so long.

“Then lets get started, shall we?”

    “Yes, lets.”

Rip knew that Grimm was stronger and could easily over power him without breaking a sweat, but he knew this fight could only end in two ways. One would be that Rip would conserve his energy and use Grimm’s temper to his advantage and take him out once he tired, and two would be to use his ultimate attack that destroyed everything in a 100 mile radius, but the down side was that it would kill him as well as Grimm. Rip would only use it if he has no other choice in the matter. “What’s the matter? Having second thoughts?” Grimm teased, but Rip remained silent as he focused his energy and prepared for the battle to come. He took a few steps forward then lifted up his right hand.

“Rock, Paper, Scissors!” He shouted as he formed a rock with his hand, but Grimm would win this round as he formed paper.

“HA! Just like old times. You’ll never be able to beat me. NEVER!!!”

“The battle isn’t over yet. That was just the first round.”

The two dueled furiously for countless hours as rocks and scissors went flying everywhere. By the time they were finished they were both tired and running on the last bit of energy they had left. This last round would tell all.

“This is it big brother. After this only one of us will be standing.” Grimm would say as he prepared himself.

They both lifted their hands at the same time. Once again Rip formed a rock. Now it was down to what Grimm would have.

    *Long pause…………………………………………………..Insanely long pause………………………………………………………………………………*

And it was . . .OMG. . .PAPER!!!!!

“NOOOOOOO!!!” Rip shouted as he fell to the ground in all his defeatedness.

    “MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I win again!!!”

    THE END.
