• Slowly Demthos walks down the stone stairs to the dungeon, letting the scent of fresh blood lead him to a cell a few rows back. As he looks into the cell he sees a young man holding his right shoulder. The man was well built, but looked weak from starvation and the other tortures of the Demon Army. Demthos eyes went to the man’s shoulder where he could see a small line of crimson velvet blood dripping through the man’s fingers. "You there, human. What is your name?" Demthos spoke the word Human like it was an infectious disease. The man jumped, looking startled as he saw the vampire in front of his cell, and backed his way to the far wall. "G...get away from m...me." the man said in a shaky voice. Demthos chuckled and teleported into the man’s cell. "I asked your name human, although it doesn’t make too much of a difference, for no one will remember you when you are gone." the man cringed as Demthos neared him and yelled "Stay back!" Demthos was suddenly right in front of the man. He grabbed him by the throat and held him high in the air, so his weak legs were an easy two feet off the ground. "Tell me your name, or die without one!" Demthos snarled and he revealed his fangs, which were white as bone. The human gasps out "Mayu. My name is... Mayu." Demthos smiled and said "Now see, that wasnt so hard was it?" and with that he spun and slammed Mayu down onto the hard stone floor of his cell. The air rushed out of his body as he felt his spinal cord break in ten places. Demthos knelt in front of the shattered man and saw the velvet trail of blood flowing from his shoulder. "Tell me, Mayu... have you ever wished to be freed from this accursed form, to ascend from the race of pathetic, weak, mortals who are no better than slaves to those with the power to decide what happens in this world? I can’t imagine how horrible it must feel to know you are worthless, and not do anything about it. Let me help you realize that there is a world far better than this pit of despair you call your life. Let me show you the land of the dead, which far surpasses the land of the living." Mayu's eyes grew wide as he shook his head and the sobs shook his whole body "please...please no!" Demthos smiled and bent his head to the human’s neck. Just before he drained the life blood from his victim, he whispered softly "Sleep Mayu, and let me release you from this pain of being a human." and with that he sank his fangs into the man’s neck, and drained him of blood. For the first few seconds, Mayu screamed, and then he went silent as the vampire drew the blood from his veins, letting the warmth fill him deep within. When he had drunken all of the blood in the body, he sat up. The once bone white fangs were now a deep crimson. Demthos licked the blood off of his lips and plunged his hand into the man’s chest. With one fluid motion he ripped the heart of the human out and placed it upon the center of his chest. The vampire bent his head and sent a prayer to his deity, the Queen of Night, and asked her forgiveness for the brutality of his feeding. He asked that the Queen of Night would take his soul into her internal abode, and that she would show him a better life than the one he just departed. As he finished his prayer Demthos lifted the reached into his cloak and pulled out a dark leather draw string bag. As he opened the small pouch, the air around the body began to swirl, and Demthos could see sprinkles of red in the air. He reached into the bag and pulled out a pinch of a dark purple powder. Demthos blew the powder upon the heart and watched as it immediately turned the same shade of purple as the dust. As it was transforming, Demthos lifted the heart and placed it back in the whole from which he had torn it. The skin closed over the wound and the human gasped, his whole body shaking as the heart reconnected itself into his body, and spread the tainted blood through his being. Mayu's body leached and he arched his back as the taint reached his brain. The human’s eyes flew open to reveal his once brown eyes had turned the same dark purple. Demthos waited as his Goddess did her work and searched the man’s body for his soul, so she could take it to her realm. Suddenly the body collapsed and his mouth fell open. After a few minutes the sparkling red air flowed from his mouth and designated. Demthos bowed his head once more and muttered "It is done." With that he stood up and turned his back on the body. The vampire walked toward the gate and teleported to the other side. His body felt rejuvenated and fresh from the encounter of the previous night. With his head held high, Demthos walked out of the row and sniffed the air. He smiled as he walked down the aisle to another cell, and looked inside. He saw a man, sitting on the ground with his eyes closed. "You there, human. What is your name?" as the man looked up, Demthos eyes sparkled and he teleported into the cell. He took a step forward to the man and laughed...
