• When the sun went down, the moon came up and the stars could be seen again – that time was when he left. He had hugged me one last time, given me one last kiss on my forehead and then he had walked away, disappearing down the path. Some days before he had told me that his family had to leave the country because of some job problems, but I would never have guessed that day would come so soon. While I was remembering those last words he had said I realized that tears were running down my cheek. “You will always be my girl, take care.” The sound of his voice gave him away; you could notice that he just wasn’t happy. I stood where he had left me, not knowing what to do; at that moment my only wish was to chase him and at least see him for another second.

    That’s exactly what I did.

One foot first, then the other. I started running as if that was my only way of living. He had said that he was leaving the next morning, which means that I still had a chance to see him. I knew his address just like the palm of my hand, passing the school straight until you get to the flower shop, then right and two houses to the left. The house number was 4, exactly the day he asked me out. I was tired, my legs wouldn’t let me keep moving but I just couldn’t stop. I knew that if I didn’t continue I would lose my chance. One more block and I would be at his door. Seconds later I stopped, not because I couldn’t continue, but because in front of me there was a boy walking towards the white house I was going. It was him.
Not knowing what I was going to do or to say, I ran faster. He had his shoulders down and his face was also looking down. I tried to yell his name to tell him I was there, but I couldn’t. Suddenly he turned around. I guess he heard me approaching, and when he saw me his expression changed. As fast as he could he opened his arms and then in a blink of an eye I was in his arms once again.
