• Demon's Revenge: End

There was a knock at his door. Annoyance was clear in his voice as he said 'enter.' Then his annoyance was replaced by shock. Marie stood in his doorway looking the same as she did when they first met. He hair was wild, her white dress still had blood stains. Jukka's dark circles under his eyes looked like he had been punched. His body was thinner from not eating. Marie looked as if she had been crying. 'Did she already know?' He wondered.
"You summoned me?" Marie asked as she sat on his bed. Without realizing it Jukka snapped at her.
    "Get off the bed!"
"Jukka," Marie whispered as she stood up and reached for his hand. He quickly pulled away and ran his other hand through his hair. "What's wrong Jukka?" Marie asked, her eyes full of worry." Jukka's eyes seemed to turn cold each time she would say his name.
"There is nothing wrong. I did not summon you. Leave me alone," he ordered. Slowly Jukka walked toward the window. He stared intently at the sea.
"I'll not leaving you until you tell me what is going on." Marie seemed to find the floor interesting for she stared at it as she spoke. Her voice slightly qwivered. "You've been avoiding me ever since that woman came to speak with you." Jukka did not move from his spot nor did he look at Marie. "Tell me why you claimed to love me yet avoid me as if I am cursed!" Slowly, Jukka turned to face Marie.
"I know I said I wanted you to be with me," his voice was detached as he spoke. "But it can not be. The last battle took my soul when your mother," instantly Marie glared at him. "Sorry, when Captain Sava stabbed you. I saw that no matter what I did, I couldn't protect you. How can I say I love you when I can't even protect your life? " Marie stared at him for a moment. She could sense that he was hidding something.
"I don't care that you can't protect me all the time!" Marie said almost franticly. "You brought my soul from the Realm of Hades! You gave me life again! I fell in love with you!" Her voice suddenly went monotone. "I love you with all of my heart..." Tears filled her eyes as his cold ones stared at her without emotion.
"I can not stay with you," his voice, like ice. "I made the mistake of getting close to you. I thought I needed you, the truth is I can't give you the love you long for." His icy voice pricked Marie's heart. She was now openly crying. Jukka acted as if he didn't see her tears. "You need to be with a man who wants a family. Be with someone who can love you, who can protect you."
The wind began to howl and the ship slightly rocked. There was a ghostly voice singing on the wind. The two stood in front of one another, saying nothing. Marie could hear the creaks in the ship, the scurry of mice. None of it mattered though, her heart was breaking as the man she loved acted like an emotionless statue. He stood in front of her without feeling, without regret. Her silent tears rolled down her face.
"You're a b*****d," Marie whiapered as she looked him in the eyes. "If you never wanted to be with me, why did you continue to lead me on after I killed Sava? After I killed my mother!" Hate seeped into her eyes like water. Suddenly Jukka grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her hard.
"I wanted to make it work! I wanted to stay with you!" Hope began to rise in Marie. "But I lost my heart after you nearly died for the second time. I saw that I live in a Hell and that whoever I love will be hurt or worse. Their death will be because I can't save them! I'm tied to the path of death and destruction. I can't escape. I won't drag you down!" Jukka's eyes were wide, willing Marie to accept his words. To understand his pain. But there was still something she saw, lurking in the depths of his eyes. He was lying. Marie pulled herself away from his painful grip. Her sorrow began to turn to hate. Hope to rage.
"Your lying. I can see it in your eyes. I wanted to believe you! As I foolishly believed you before." Her tears turned to blood. "Do you really want me gone? Is it true? You want to go back to her? Your human who left you for another? And now that she has come back you run to her like a dog. Completely forgetting her betrayal to you." Marie held her hand over her heart as if trying to hold the peices together. "Dark told me what hapened!" Jukka's eyes grew in disbelief, revealing the truth to Marie. Marie was nearly yelling as she spoke. "She left you! The night you were married! And for another human, weaker but wealther than you. Everyone thinks you killed Sava, Captain of The Navy! So it seems Dark's words were right. She has come back, wanting you. And gettin what she wants."
Suddenly Jukka slapped Marie across the face with the back of his hand. Marie fell to the ground after letting out a frightened gasp. Her hand trembled as she held her reddened cheek. Her face revealing no fear, only shock.
"You know nothing of the love me and Asteria share," Jukka said as he watched Marie with disgust. Slowly she sat up, "Asteria loves me just as I love her." Jukka spoke as if he was made of ice. Completely heartless. Marie began to bitterly laugh as she stood up. Bloody tears stained her face.
"Your precious love was named after the Mother Of the Great Goddess Hecate? That's a laugh," again Jukka back handed Marie with enough force to knock her to the floor again. She didn't bother to get up. She layed on the floor looking broken. Fear covered her face.
"You shall say no more or else you shall regret it." His words like s knife stabbing into her already broken heart. Marie felt as if she could die that very moment. Yet, she was able to find her voice.
"At least," she began in a small whisper as she held her cheek and stared at the floor. "At least I know what you are truly like before you leave me. At least I finally know that you don't truly love me." Marie paused as she looked up at him with midnight blue eyes. Jukka stared at her for a long time, his mouth moved slightly, trying to find the words he wanted. "Watch out," Marie whispered "when you sail into the sea." Then without saying anything Jukka turned and left. His unsaid words made the last shards of Marie heart shatter. He never planned to see her again, in this life or the next. Fire seemed to burn Marie's throat. Pain consumed her entire body the moment he left the room.
After laying broken on the floor for what seemed like hours, Marie got up. As she walked to the door, her legs shook. Her body was weak, there was a bruise forming on her otherwise unmarked face. As she reached the deck of her ship, she realized it was still docked at the port on Lady Thea's island. Marie moved as silent as a ghost across the docks. She looked to be the spirit of a broken woman. As she pulled the ribbon her her hair Marie thought to herself. 'All this time,' her hair gently fell around her shoulders and over her breast. 'It was just a lie.' As Marie walked up thr road path to a cliff the hought kept repeatin in her mind. 'It was a heartbreaking lie.' Marie slowly reached up to her neck and unlatched her cresent moon necklace. Lettin it slip down her chest and into the dirt. The moonlight lit the path for Marie as she let her blood tears fall. The wind began to blow harder, making her hair whip around her.
Once Marie reached the cliff she stood on the edge and looked out to the sea. She could see the Black Soul sailing to the horizon. There was a voice on the wind singing a sad lyllaby.
"Soon I will be here no more. my soul lost to the sea, will no one look for me? Please my love, find me once more." Marie looked up to the full moon. The words began to drift from her lips. Bloody tears fell with no end.
"I traveled the world looking for my lost love. He stole my heart. Leaving me behind empty and broken. How can I still love him with all my heart? The stars show me the way, the moon is my only fried and light." Despear filled Marie's heart, she felt as if she herself were breaking into a million pieces.
