    Prologue

Violet's POV: Making crystals is a very careful, precise process. One little mistake could, literally, blow up in your face.

    CRASH!

I looked over as Snipe and Ace staggered away from a large pile of broken Firebolts.

"Will you too stop playing 'snowball' with my crystals?" I asked in irritation. "For the love of God, is it really that hard to act like civilized adults!

"Yes..." Snipe replied with a sly grin. "Yes it is."

I hate Snipe when he's sarcastic... I thought in anger. With my back to them, I grabbed the Frost Crystal that was on the table in front of me. It was the same crystal I had been working on all last night, by creating this duplicate from the original and writing down any changes in the duplicates effects.

Clutching the crystal tightly in my hand, I turned and threw it at Snipe. The crystal struck him in the head and shattered into a million light blue pieces, as Snipe was quickly covered in ice.

Ace stared at me with wide eyes, then he turned his head to look at a frozen Snipe and burst out laughing.

I chuckled. "Oh, how freezing people is apparently so freakin hilarious."

Ace continued to laugh obnoxiously, clutching his sides in pain. I sneered at him, my irritation growing. "Ace it's not-"

He interrupted me with another wail of giggles. I closed my eyes and pinched the sides of my nose together, my anger reaching it's peak.

"I get it!" I yelled, catching Ace's attention. "Now, get out and take Snipe with you!"

Ace shrunk back, then turned his head and glared at me from a side angle. "I just thought it was funny," Ace muttered under his breath, as he then grabbed Snipe's frozen hand and walked towards the door. "It's not like it's illegal to laugh."

I turned to look at the pile of broken crystals, my anger beginning to subside. All that time and work. All put to waste. I thought with a grimace.

With my back turned, I didn't notice Ace stop when he spotted a bruise colored crystal on my desk. (End of Violet's POV.)

Ace looked up at Violet, smiling at her ignorance to his sudden pause. Grabbing the crystal, Ace slipped it into his pocket and quickly rushed out of the room, dragging Snipe right behind him.

(Violet) Oh, how I wish I was paying attention.

    End of Prologue.
