it was her birthday. august 13th of 1997.and they had sent her on an early mission that wasnt supposed to be due for another week.the old man in charge of her assignments was very rude about her charge.
As Fox watched her mission walk past she fell back into the moment when she was assigned his death~
the old man was waiting for her to return in her room, something that wasnt uncommon for him.
she came in tired and weary,a medium length wound healing on her right arm from where her mission had fought back.
"You let another one slip past your guard?"the old man inquired to her wound.
"it was a simple mistake!"she walked to her bathroom and undressed for a shower to wash the wound.the idea of hot water caused the wound to throb in pain and she winced
the old man came in and sat on the bench along her bathroom wall, watching her.not that she cared,he raised her so he had seen every inch of her multiple times
she started the water.
"Fox,i suggest you see a healer once you have finished.you have another mission in 3 days."
"3 DAYS??!!"
"your mission has moved faster than we thought he would."
"Wait...your sending me to kill.."
"Yes."
"But Kohno isnt ready to die yet!"
"i dont care if he's ready. Kohno has become a risk to the coven.he MUST die."
Fox growled and surrendered. she knew fighting against going on a mission was useless.
she came back to the present.Kohno was looking straight at her and she didnt even realize.
"So they sent you already?"He asked calmly.
she jumped from her tree and landed infront of him."Kohno."
"Kill me quickly if you must.i wont fight back,Fox."
for the first time in her life, tears filled her eyes."but Kohno..!"
"i am your mission and you have never failed...so kill me."
Fox stood up and wiped away the tears."Kohno..!"
Kohno reached for the scythe in her right hand but she stepped back.
missions were forbidden from ever touching an assassin's weapon.it was the only thing around them for miles that could kill her.
Kohno stepped with her but changed his mind and wrapped his arm around her waist.
"Fox,i am in such great pain.put me out of my misery, please?"
"But Kohno...i dont want to kill you."
"is that your love for me speaking?"he asked playfully
she pushed him away"i am not in love with you Kohno!"
he stepped into her as he had done before and pulled her against him."But my sweet assassin, you are."
her eyes looked at him with confusion.
"i can see into your heart,my assassin.and i can see you love me with more passion than any hatred you have ever had for a mission"
"K-Kohno..."
Kohno snatched away her scythe and flung it into the tree she had jumped from then kissed her with all the passion he had spoke of.
seconds later, after hesitation, she kissed back.just seconds after that her scythe lay inbetween his heart and left lung and he lay on the ground covered in blood. his heart raced as Fox fell to her knees, holding herself in pain.
she cried out for him but he was to late. the other assassin's dagger had pierced her flesh and ripped out her heart
