• Your windows opened wide
    Your innocence takes flight

To a world where madness craves
To a world where hope's enslaved

    There was nothing but darkness…

There was no light. No sound. No smell.

    Until He came…

“Hope, wake up! You’re going to be late for school again!”

“Mrphh,” the teenage girl replied. She slowly rolled over opening her eyes to see the clock that sat on her nightstand. As soon as she saw the glowing digital numbers glaring at her, she jumped out of bed, pulling some clothes on, while attempting to brush her hair.

Hope Scarlet is a 17-year-old girl with long black hair and pretty blue eyes. She’s of pretty average height but still wishes she could be taller.

Hope ran down the stairs grabbing a piece of toast from the toaster as she went. She stuffed it in her mouth, as she pulled on a jacket over her black T-shirt, and ran out the door.

She got to her black Camry and jumped inside.

“Please don’t give me any problems today girl,” she begged the car as she started it. The car turned on without any difficulty and started to purr.

She laughed as she pulled out of the driveway, “That’s it girl!”

She swerved her car into the school parking lot just as the warning bell rang. She jumped out, and sprinted inside not noticing the pair of gray eyes watching her closely.

    “Hmm…interesting.”

Hope slid into her seat just as the bell rung, “Phew! Just made it!”

“You got that right,” said a voice from behind her.

Hope turned around to see Avery Michaels smiling at her. Hope nodded and turned back around when the teacher came in.

Hope breezed through all her classes like she usually does. She gets slightly higher above average grades and doesn’t have any trouble in her classes…except for math.

“Urghh!” Hope groaned as her and Avery walked out of math, “I swear! I can’t stand math, and I most definitely can’t stand that teacher! He never makes anything simple!” Hope seethed as they walked to the cafeteria.

Avery laughed, “Well maybe not all of us is as retarded as you are when it comes to math,” she said smiling.

Hope hit her best friend in the shoulder as they both laughed. Hope has known Avery ever since she moved here when she was 8. Avery was Scene with big poofed up black hair and some really green eyes. Her hair had many different colors in her hair from lime green to fluorescent pink. Today she was wearing a white long sleeve shirt with paint splatters, blue finger gloves, ripped up punches, and black converse with lime green shoe- laces.

They walked into the cafeteria, got their food, and sat at their usual table. Here at Streakview High everyone at the beginning of the year chose a table and stuck with it throughout the year.

Two guys walked up to their table laughing and joking around until they sat down.

“Hey,” they said at the same time. Hope had her mouth full of food so she just waved, Avery who also had her mouth full of food attempted to speak with a, “Hsff.”

“Woah! Did not need to see that!” Ian Clevech said leaning away from Avery. Ian was blonde with blue eyes and he was the class clown of the whole school loving to play pranks on others.

“Got that right,” said Devin Michaels looking down at his food seeming to lose his appetite. Devin was Avery’s older brother with black hair, blue eyes, and a lip ring. Although his sister was Scene Devin preferred to be Goth. He was the quiet one and only seemed to talk with their group.

Hope was laughing as Ian pretended to throw up and Devin pushed away his tray. Avery just sat there and glared at the two.

“It wasn’t that funny,” she said pouting.

Ian put an arm around her, “Of course not babe.”

Ian and Avery were going out, but thankfully Devin approved of Ian. The other guys he didn’t like had to go to the hospital.

Avery turned to Hope with a mischievous grin on her face, “So Hope I hear that we’re going to be getting a new student after lunch. I heard it was a boy. A HOT boy,” the grin on her face just kept getting wider and wider. Hope silently wondered how her face was not exploding.

“So?” She said as she took another bite into her hamburger. Hope was skinny and never really worried about her weight, she just exercises.

Aver leaned closer to her, “Sooo maybe you can finally get a boyfriend!” She said smiling even bigger.

Hope just shrugged which deflated Avery totally.

    “Well…that was a hope crusher…haha Hope.”

Hope rolled her eyes at the last comment.

When the bell rang they all got rid of whatever was left on their trays, and headed to the next class. After they had been sitting down for a few seconds the bell rang and the teacher-Ms. Spafford-stood up away from her desk.

“Now kids we’re going to have a new student today. Treat him nicely class. This is Draven Clavaut.”

She made a gesture to the door and he walked in. Hope’s breath was taken away as she looked upon this new arrival.

He had black hair that hung in front of gray eyes. His skin was pale, very pale. He wore a black short-sleeved shirt with a gray long sleeved under shirt, dark jeans, and black Nike’s.

He looked at Hope and smirked.

“Yesssss….she is definitely the one…” The cloaked figure watched in the pool of water as the new student ‘Draven’ took his seat next to her.

He looked back at the man standing behind him, “She is the one I saw in my vision.”

Underneath his hood the man smiled, “Good…good. She will be ours soon enough.”

    The hour has begun
