• Victor's shout cut through the noise of the other students on the playground, "hey watch out!" he watched as the perfect cherry bomb, became the demise of an oblivious girl on the sideline of the kickball black top.
Savannah's creamy, pale hand rubbed the back of her wavy, brunette curls after the ball struck her hard. She was quietly staring at the clouds in the other direction when her classmate kicked the ball in her direction, had she been watching; this event could have been avoided.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't hurt you to bad… did I?" Victor asked when he ran over to her. The blonde's bright, blue eyes were rimming with tears; he hasn't felt this bad since he accidently tripped David on Monday.
Savannah picked up the vibrant, red kick ball and grinned at him; "don't cry, I'll be alright, this won't be the first or last time I'm a kick ball target."
Victor and Savannah were classmates in Ms. Dillon's Kindergarten class at Wilson Borough Elementary; they hadn't really talked before until this particular recess. Savannah had recently moved to the area from Hellertown. But all that aside Victor's eyes dried quickly and he gave the girl a bear hug completely happy she was alright and wasn't mad at him.
"I'm Victor winger, do you wanna play kickball with us?" he asked after giving his name.
"Victor! What are you standing around for!? We got a game going!" another classmate shouted quite annoyed at the delay.
"Uhm, no thanks, I'll just watch you guys, and I'm Savannah Troxell." She said smiling and blushing softly.
Victor nodded slowly sadden that she declined but smiled, "alright then, after we go back inside, sit at my table okay!" he said running back over to the field.
Savannah waved her hand giggling, "of course! Knock them dead!" she cheered.
Once the game started again, Savannah sat on the sideline cheering Victor's team on, not knowing that at this point, the two of them would be the greatest of friends.
