• “Hey how are you holding up?” Steph asks as she and Briana come into my room on Friday morning. Today school was closed because of Teachers-in-service. Briana brought my favorite ice cream, Chocolate. Steph brought chips and cookies.
“I’m ok thanks for the break-up food.” I said holding in more tears.
“Now, I’m not trying to be mean or bitchy, but I told you so. I told you that Sophia would get to him.” Briana said. Thanks a lot for trying to make me happy, I thought.
“Briana!” Steph yelled, “Are you trying to get her to start crying?”
“Look I just wanted to make it clear that I did say Sophia could get to anyone she wanted.” Briana replied. Now I was pissed off. How dare her! When I needed a friend she was busy rubbing in that she was right.
“What is the matter with you?” I yell as I get off my bed. Immediately Steph and Briana looked at me in astonishment. “Why are you so scared of Sophia its not like she is going to kill you. Besides you spend your weekends hooking up and breaking up instead of actually facing your true fear!”
“Oh really! Well just what might that be?”
“You’re afraid of commitment. You’re afraid to get your heart broken, so instead you break someone else’s.” Briana didn’t reply, just stood there in shock.
“b***h,” she said as she walked out. All I wanted to do was crawl under a rock.
First I lose my boyfriend, and now I lose my best friend. Why do things like this happen to me?
“Look you just need to give her time. She’s not that used to having to deal with other’s problems because she’s so caught up in herself.” Steph said in a soft voice.
“I know but she just us so selfish sometimes.” I replied.
“Hey lets finish the ice cream before it melts from all this tension.” We both start laughing.

All week I have been trying to avoid talking or seeing David. He has been sending me flowers, cards, and chocolates. Sometimes I wish that I wasn’t popular, so no one would even notice my problems. I don’t want all of this. What I do want is for him to apologize to my face. I give Briana the whole week to apologize, but that really isn’t happening.
I am on my way to my car to get my cheerleading uniform when I see David. He was standing at the driver’s side of my car. All I did when I saw him was walk up to him and ask, “What are you doing?”
“I wanted to talk to you in person.” He replies.
    “Well talk.”
“Ok, look I didn’t want this to happen. You were the only one who talked to me the first week of school. I…I…I love you.” I felt so happy I could scream, but what I really wanted was to kiss him. “Anna look I’m not saying you shouldn’t forgive me but I’ll understand if you don’t.”
“But I do forgive you. I always have. I just wanted you to say that to my face.” Right then he grabbed me in his arms and we kissed. I suddenly felt like I was floating on a cloud, like a queen. I didn’t notice it but Steph, and Briana were now in front of my car.
“Aww see she’s not that mad at you now,” Steph whispered, “so go and talk to her.”
“No can’t you see they’re busy?” Briana replied back whispering.
    “Just go!”
“Fine”, Briana said as she walked over to us. All I did was just stand there, watching Briana as she walked over to us.
“I’m going to let you two talk. I’ll call you later.” David said. I saw he went over to talk to Steph, and they walked into the school building together.
“Hey,” Briana said when she reached me.
    “Hey,” I said quietly.
“So…look I’m sorry…I never meant to make you mad.” I didn’t even respond to her. I just let her talk. “I was hoping you would forgive me…but I guess I thought wrong…” She began to walk away and then she stopped, turned around, and said, “I really am…sorry.” Then she turned and started to walk away.
“Wait…” I yelled, and we both ran to each other and hugged, “I have to forgive you, you were looking out for me. After all we are sisters.” We both started laughing and crying. We had our arms around each other’s shoulders and we were laughing and walking into the school building.
“Hey!” we yelled to Steph as we walked into the gym. We managed to rush and get changed in seconds.
“Looks like you two are friends again,” She said.
“You know…everything feels back where it should be.” I said back.
“Not everything, what are you going to do about Sophia?” Briana asked.
“I don’t know let’s just get through practice we’ll figure it out later.” I replied.
