• “Finally Phil, I’ve been looking to this wrestling match all day!” yelled a gruff voice.

“I think everyone has Jack Lumber. Finally we get to watch this feud explode into epic proportion out here in this very arena,” replied a mannered voice.

Heavy metal music burst across the arena and title cards spelled ‘Are you ready’ on the jumbotron, followed by the scenes of wrestling action. Storming out of the entrance and screamed at by over three-hundred fans, was a man in a sleeveless leather jacket, black pants, knee caps and boots. He had long dark brunette mullet and tattooed on his chest ‘You’ll never be ready’.

“Introducing, the sensation that you can never wait for, weighing at two-hundred-and-thirty-five bounds billed from California; Impact!” shouted the announcer.

The wrestler climbed into the ring, leapt onto the corner post and observed the audience.

“For those unaware how this feud started, Impact was in moments of winning the AWF championship, but his partner actually came in and smacked him with a steel chair before he could accomplish his signature move, the ‘Now or never’!” shouted Jack. “Can you believe that, his own partner! Bill Yanks!”

“Correct, Bill Yanks had made numerous attempts at taking the title, while that had been Impact’s third attempt. He would’ve succeeded for a third time if it hadn’t been for Bill Yanks. Now they’re both coming out here to settle this here tonight in a one-one match.”

Impact had stepped back onto the mat and threw away his jacket, glaring.

Fireworks exploded, followed by the chants of ‘Hoorah! Hoorah!”, drumbeats then, ‘Hoorah! Hoorah!’ repetitively. Icily pacing out, was a large man with a buzz cut, blue trunks, arm and leg pads and blue boots with red laces. People screamed ‘boo’ that almost drowned the ‘Hoorahs’.

“Weighing in three-and-fifteen pounds billing from New York, I give you the mighty action warrior, Bill Yanks!”

The man pulled his huge form onto the ring and easily hauling down the ropes and stepping in.

As he entered the arena, Impact called up for a microphone and faced Bill.

When the chanting stopped, Impact spoke breathing hard. “Bill.” He observed his opponent breathe harder. “We don’t need to do this.” There were objections in the audience. “I’m sore about you appearing behind my back and striking me with a steel chair. But I’d rather talk about this, than beat the life out of you.”

Bill was reluctant to take the microphone from the referee’s hand, keeping his eyes on Impact. “You’re wrong Impact. You’re wrong, we do need to do this.” The audience roared. “Last week, you were about to start your third title reign. You’ve only been in this business for two years. Me, I’ve been here for five years and I haven’t had ‘one’ title reign, I’ve been throwing everything I have into fourteen shots I’ve had for that AWF championship title. I’ve given my body, my heart and my soul. What have you given? Last week before you entered that title match, you were acting like it was no big deal.”

“You got any idea why I didn’t treat it like no big deal?” snapped Impact. “Because I knew that if I didn’t get the AWF title, I’d still have these people, my family and friends and one of those friends was you! There’s no need to turn on a friend just over some belt around your waist!”

“When you’re a part of the greatest sensation, the Amazing wrestling sensation, that belt stands for everything! It shows you’re the greatest! It shows that all you’ve achieved everything you deserve, that you’re the biggest somebody that stands in this ring!” Bill Yank’s nose flared. “If I’m going to get that belt, I have to be willing to knock everyone else whose apart of the company and guess what Impact, you’re a part of the company as well. The fact you’ve been doing this much better than me, this greater than me, shows that if I can’t stop you from getting any bigger, I’ll never achieve that belt that I’m supposed to have in my grasps!”

“Is this really what’s this about? Wanting to be top dog just because you have some pretty belt around your waist?”

“It’s not just the belt Impact, you hear those people?” He held out his hand to the audience. “They chant your name. Not because you’re some fancy role model, the protector of morals and find you on the front of their cereal boxes. No they chant your name because they think you’re the best wrestler here, I’m going to prove you’re not. When I beat you, they’ll be crying my name after what I do to you. When I’ve done that, the general manager is going to give me one more title match.” He held his middle finger in Impact’s face. “And after that I’ve done everything I’ve ever wanted to do.”

“So let me get this straight.” Impact brushed away his finger. “You want to sacrifice your best friendship in the business, backstab and cheat and disgrace yourself, for what? This?”

“Impact. You’re just going in circles, while I’m here trying to spell it out for you. So I say we don’t hold back the inevitable and just get this match over with so I can find out when my next title match is.”

The crowd cheered. Impact paced back, eyes on Bill. He knelt and handed back the microphone while Bill tossed away his.

“Finally, thought this match would never get started,” grouched Jack. “Wait whose that?”

Just as Impact handed back his microphone, a man in a red and yellow luchador mask slammed him with a steel chair.

“Isn’t that Finale?” asked Philip, just as the luchador smacked Bill.

Both wrestlers were knocked down and the fans bellowed outraged boos. The luchador patiently studied them.

“Now this is just not fair, we were waiting on this match all day and Finale comes along and ruins it,” ranted Jack.

“Just why did Finale stop this match?”

Finale threw away the chair and marched out the ring, the boos became even more violent.

The referee checked both Bill and Impact then gave an X sign.

“Well you’ve seen it here folks. There’ll be no main event match.”

    “This is just horrendous!”

“Thank you for joining us on Amazing wrestling federation and come next week to see the coverage of this incident by Finale.”
