• I was walking through an alleyway in the moonlight, wandering my way home as I hummed a tune to disctract my mind from my fear of the dark. I began to occupy myself with small things; tapping my thumb against each fingertip in order then back again, popping my knuckles, even rubbing my hands together to warm them. But I grew tired of my humming and stood still for a moment, putting in my headphones to listen to music. As I did this I unintentionally spoke aloud.
"Why're the shadows so scary?" I had asked myself, earning the feeling of a presence in the alley with me.
"It's not scary dear, you just do not see charm in the darkness." The voice startled me, causing me to stand still and do a 180, quickly yanking out the only headphone in my ear.
The voice was coupled to a male; he was taller than me, he looked at least "6'3" and was thin, almost lanky in his shape. His hair was a light caramel color which was styled into a sort of mullet, which seemed to stop short in the back. His eyes were a beautiful blue green, the color you'd see in the depths of Carribean sea. But in his eyes was a strange feeling that was piercing into me, making my voice sound nervous.
    "What do you mean charm?"
He laughed a bit, and stepped more into the moonlight. He had on a long leather hooded coat which reached his ankles and was riddled with various zippers and buckles, which matched the metal he wore on his ears. He had various studs up and down his left ear, and the other ear had a single cuff and a dangling cross earing. beneath the coat he wore a black v-neck and black skinny jeans that held two checkered black and white belts, crossed over eachother. The ankles of his jeans were tucked into his clunky, studded combat boots. And as I looked back to his face I noticed he had a few strands of his hair down infront of his right ear, the hair was braided and set closed with a dark silver bead.
"There are certain wonders in the shadows and the dark. You are just afraid of seeing these wonders dear."
"What kind of wonders?" I asked reluctantly, my voice was but a nervous whisper.
"Wonders like me." At first I had thought he was being conceded, then I remembered I was in a dark alley and he had seemed to emerge from the thin air of the dark.
"You're very lovely you know, it's a shame you had to be the one here Aleina." His voice was a passionate whisper that threw shivers up my spine. As the shivers sprawled throughout my body he seemed to appear closer as he took a step infront of me, pressing me into the bricks of the wall. Before I could speak he craned his pointer finger and lifted my chin as if to kiss me.
"I don't- How do you know my na-" But before I could finish his mouth opened to reveal two pairs of razor fangs, and clamped down onto my neck.

He will kill you... his earing. rip it off.
I don't know I listened to the voice which echoed in my mind, but I did. I slowly moved my right arm to his ear and caught hold of the small silver cross, which I yanked as hard as I could. In an instant black liquid dripped from his ear and he pulled away from me, cupping his wounded ear.
His blood is black.... What the hell is this thing? I questioned myself but shook away the thoughts. His blood was now on my collar bone and chin, which I noticed when I wet my lips and caught a taste of the rotten flavored liquid.
"That wasn't smart Lei." His words were spat frantically at me, but he said my nickname as if we were close friends.
    "What the hell are you."
But my question went unanswered, he had sunk into the shadows.
