• High School... filled with jocks, cheerleaders, popular kids, nerds...and me. the one girl who really didn't fit into any of the groups. I was treated well with disrespect from fellow classmates and teachers...yes teachers, and this was through out the 4 years.
Kids, judging me, laughing at me, complete terror. No friends except the school nurse, without her i probably wouldn't have even made it through the 4 years. Teachers critized my work, nothing was good enough for their standards in art class and child care and developement which was horrible then art. All through high school, i was in the shadow of my older brother, who was far popular then i was and all the girls in his class (AND MINE!) loved him. When he graduated, all the teachers, in Junior and senior year asked me "Your matt's sister right?" and "How's your brother doing?"
One project we had to do in a group. ( i hated group work). So, this project, we had to create a poster. I came up with a lot of good ideas which were all shut down, and so my job was simple...a.) find photos on the internet and b.) spend my own money for the poster as well. I spent $1.00 on a baby pacifier to add to the poster. In the end, i got no credit since the girls (who were juniors) said i didn't do anything. So i took a pair of scissors and cut the pacifier off the project. (I wasn't going to let them keep $1.00 of my money). So i took it back. The project all in all got a B. i had to do my own project and had my own ideas. My poster got an A and the teacher kept it, to show other classes.
I can tell many stories of High school, from not liking gym to, attending summer school because the teachers couldn't teach, but one memory i will always have...not a good one i say.. is that when it came to Senior photos (which you had to get dressed up in a shoulder showing shirt and stuff) is that my senior photo was left out of the yearbook. Four Years of going through *heck*, and now it wasn't even if i existed...Thanks to a teacher who thought she was better then everybody (she only got the job because her father was in charge of hiring people). Yes i was "mentioned" in the yearbook under "photos not shown." It was horrible, and i am glad i'm not in high school any more.
