• The last thing I recall it storming out of my apartment after a big argument I had with my mom I couldn't take it anymore. I though escaping from my loud home would finally bring me some peace and quiet, but no the city was loud and bustling as ever. Cars zoomed past me almost knocking me over. People screamed at each other, babies cried, horns honked. It was giving me a splitting head ache. The buildings around hung like branches of a tree. The cast a cool shadow over me blocking me from the late summers heat, which was impenetrable. I walked along the side walk people of all shapes and sizes walked past me, giving me dirty and sad looks. I ad no clue where I was going but it didn't matter. What ever has happen to the world, is not for me, I don't want to be here when it tears it self apart. Homeless, loveless, and broken people, lined the alleyways .sad. The sun hide under a passing cloud. The city grew dimmer. The busy people stopped in their tracks. Like as if time had just stopped. Hovering over their heads were black mists, that floated peacefully. Almost every Man woman and child had one hovering over their head. It was weird, and I was starting to freak out. The sun came back out, and the shadows seemed into the bodies of the person they were hovering over. I must have been seeing things. I ignored the situation for a moment, but everything went haywire. Loud high pitch screams rang from all the people as their bodies began to change. Everyone starting from their head started to turn jet black soon there whole body was black, all there was left of then were small yellow eyes. There arms grew long and bony, with sharp pointed fingers. They stood limp and dreary in the shadows. They made no sounds. Even the young children had grew taller to match the older beings. With a unforgettable stare, each creature had given me. I ran down the street as fast as my feet would take me. Now every one I saw were these black…things but why not me too. I gave a quick glance behind me and they shadows were chasing me, they walked like zombies, but in a faster mode, their heads drooped as their bodies ran toward me. I ran up and down alleys trying to loose them but every time I thought just that they would reappear at the next corner. I was running out of breathe and I had to get away as soon as possible. I hide behind an empty garbage trailer. They found them there too. I ran thought the public park, zoomed past the swings and monkey bars, the children who were once playing there were these terrible beasts. Still they followed me. I ran through an opening of woods. I dodged tree branches and jumped over big stones. The shadows were now jumping from tree to tree with their long bony arms swaying beside them. I reached a dead end. A ledge stood under my feet. I looked down. It seemed endless. The shadows piled up behind me. I tried to back away from the ledge, but a dark cold force pushed me and I fell far to my death. But this is not the end of this story but the beginning I must say. Darkness, filling my eyes, wake up Lynn!, wake up!. I slowly opened my eyes. I was lying in a damp cold what looked like to be an ally." Am I dead?" that fall should have killed me. I sat up and looked around, the shadows their gone. That must have been a dream . But why am I in this ally way. Strange. I'd better get home it's getting late. The sky was a dark purplish gray color and the sun was about to set. The city around me was my city but quiet and abandon, there were no cars, no people anywhere. The city seemed to have a dull color to it. The skyscrapers where a dull gray as the few trees were deep green. I stepped on the cold side walk and took couscous steps. The wind blew violently. A newspaper blew by, I caught it. I looked at a cover, there was a strange picture on the front, it was a shadow but much bigger then the ones I saw. The title said, "strange beings from space kill 20 thousand citizens. "killed" I whispered. I turned around and looked into a store window, I saw myself. I was different. My eyes were a pale blue color instead of the always hazel green. MY hair was a faded brown and my skin was pure white. I nervously touched the glass window. Slowly with one finger I touched it and the mirror exploded into millions for pieces of glass. I stood their scared to death unharmed by the flying glass. I leaned agents the store. I fell through and landed inside , sitting on the store's dirty floor. I got up and walked through the stores wall right back out side. "what is this" I asked myself. I suddenly heard the sound of a persons voice. Peoples voices. I looked around with. People slowly walked out of apartments. The pilled around me and the broken store window. " it..it was a accident" I told them. They did not say anything. I reached my had out to a young boy my hand went right through his shoulder. " must have been one of those shadow creatures. Said an elder man. " go back to your homes, for now" said the man. They all backed away and returned to their homes. Still standing there was my, my mom. Her eyes were filled with tears, that dripped on the broken glass. " Lynn….i'm sorry" she spoke quietly. I walked up to her. " Mom I'm here right here can't you see me" She turned away and walked away then disappeared in a strange black dust.. I fell to my knees, as warm tears streamed from the eyes I have been given. " no mom….I'm sorry". I cried that day for the first time in seven years. It hurt to cry because my eyes were dry. I wiped them away. " what am I….a ghost" I stood up. I wiped away my last tear. I looked up and rain fell on my nose. Then it down poured. I walked away. I turned away from the city, and walked toward the bridge which separated the city from the rest of the world. I reached the bridge entry. Looked back and whispered…I'll be back with vengeance. and will save you this time. I walked in the middle of the bridge and watched the geese fly over the river. Their cal was calming. I didn't know where I was going but I had to leave my home. Now all alone no more feelings left. I stopped. A foot step sound echoed behind me. I turned. Standing there was a boy soaking wet, like me. He had light brown hair, a sad face, and he looked about thirteen. I just stared at him for a moment as he starred at me. He can see me. As I looked closer he looked almost transparent and had pale blue eyes as well as I have. I turned around and started walking again. The echoing sound still echoed. I turned around once more the boy was right behind me staring at me with scared eyes. " who are you?" I asked him. He gave no answer. I gave him a puzzled look. The boys eyes turned yellow and his body morphed. Into a tall shadow over six feet tall. It hung over me. I stood unafraid. I grabbed my shirt and lifted my off the ground. I closed my eyes. A loud gun shot like noise shot the air. I quickly opened my eyes. The shadows eyes were opened wide, he dropped me. He stood their and exploded into black smoke. I covered my eyes from the dusty mask. I slowly put my arm down. I looked up where the bullet had struck the shadow. Standing of a beam of the bridge was a boy about five eight. He had short brown wavy hair. HE had pale green eyes and was staring at me in a strange way. He wore tattered gray jeans a tan jacket over a red tee shirt.
