• She sat in her basement pouring many different paints into glass tea bottles before shaking and watching the colors stream into a multi liquid beauty. Drops of purple, green and yellow flushed around, yet not mixing completely. She then took some twine and hung them high and low, from the branches of the beautiful giant tree that swayed in the back yard. Her neighbors must have thought she was crazy, after all who paints bottles, and hangs them in trees? What does this mean?
She was known for being an artist, and a nature girl that ran barefoot even on the street. And as a child, gained the name "butterfly girl." for spending the days with a net chasing monarchs and swallowtails through the field before it was built into houses...
Now she was a teenager, tieing bottles and ribbons in the branches of the tree.... but what was the meaning behind this bizare ritual that left her uptight step father angry, and her neighbors and younger brother amused? Life, is the only answer she had. The many mixtures of paint, feathers and glitter inside the glass, were people, and their many walks of life. the ribbons and bells that hung from the tree alongside of them, was what they faced during their years. She then would go on to say, that her bottle was the one that has butterflys on it, half filled with water and glitter that floated whenever the bottle moved... "Its mine because I'm still everyones butterfly girl...even though those years have gone and passed..ain't it a shame, they never care to show anymore..." As she came to a finish, she would look up carefree as can be and ask, "so... what would be in your bottle?"
This girl is me, and still today, I hang bottles in the tree, and ask you, yourself to evaluate your life, and tell me the truth, would you bottle be beautiful?
