• INDENTIONOn what we would call July 6th, a baby boy was born. He was born of royal blood, a prince of medieval times. The sole heir of the throne. Yea, an only child. But that could be normal. But there's to this prince's life than you think.

    Chapter One

INDENTIONIt was just another day for Prince Koji Felix Oniju. Koji was born like any normal person. Ten fingers and ten toes. Grew up like any prince. Well.. He was never interested in having a relationship. At the age of eighteen, most princes were married. Koji was twenty-five and single. His father wasn't getting any younger. So for the past few weeks, the castle has been filled with princesses to choose from. The princesses tried their best to woo Koji and they enjoyed being around him. Koji was a very handsome man, Soft emerald green eyes. Gorgeous plump rosy colored lips. Smooth flawless complexion. Shoulder length wavy onyx hair. He was six foot right, slim but muscular built sun kissed body. He was what every woman dreamed of. Had the best of personalities. Koji was the sweetest man you'd ever meet. He was chivalrous, courageous, romantic, a very easy going man, trustworthy, caring, and selfless. Though he did have a bit of a mischievous bone in him. Being too good was a little boring.
INDENTIONAs hard as the women tried, the prince was never swayed by their attempts to win him over. Take today for example. It was early in the morning, a little before breakfast. Koji was up before everyone else. He was quite the morning person. He loved how everything looked fresher and loved hearing the beautiful song birds. Koji was reading a book outside in the garden. He was a bookworm, too, when he had the time to be. His agenda was usually filled with many activities. He was just about done with his book when his servant came to announce that the king was up and breakfast was ready. Koji got up from the spot he was sitting at under a tree and headed back inside. As he walked to the dining hall, he ran into a couple of princesses. They were all dolled up, trying to catch Koji's eye. Koji just waved as he walked by, mumbling a good morning. The girls just sighed but they would be persistent. Koji walked in the dining hall as his father and mother were about to sit.
INDENTION"Good morning, Father. Good morning, Mother," Koji said as he walked up to them, bowing slightly.
INDENTION"Good morning, Koji," the couple said in unison. Once the royal family was in, the princesses started filing in. Koji stood behind his chair as the women came in, it being respectful to wait until all the ladies have been seated before sitting himself. He pulled back the chair for the princess that was to be sitting beside him, Princess Angela, instead of a servant, being the gentleman he was. Princess Angela was a very cheery young lady and quite the flirt. She was sweet but very talkative. The prince had to endure her chatting on about her likes, her dislikes, her views on the other princesses, and how great of a wife she could be. Koji tried to be patient but was soon tired of her constant talking.
INDENTION"May I be excused," Koji asked, looking up from his untouched meal. Knowing why Koji wanted to go, the king nodded. Koji stood, bowed to his parents and the princesses, then walked out. He was tired of Angela's nonsense. He walked out to the royal garden. Such a beautiful place. Rose bushes, patches of cupid's darts, and many other gorgeous flowers. Koji loved coming to the garden to clear his mind. As the prince was admiring a luscious rose, one of the princesses, Princess Luna, appeared.
INDENTION"Good morning, Prince Koji," Luna said sweetly. Unlike Angela, Luna was quiet and conserved. She be as sweet as can be.
INDENTION"Huh.. Oh, good morning, Princess," the prince said, looking up from the rose. It was amazing how the prince remembered every princess's name but he did.
INDENTION"Is there something wrong, Your Highness?"
INDENTION"Uh... No.. I just needed a break from Angela."
INDENTION"Ah, yes. She is quite chatterbox. Though you seem distracted by something else."
INDENTION"Well.. The past few weeks have just been tough, I'm being pressured to choose a bride. When I look at all those women, I feel nothing for any of them," Koji said with sigh.
INDENTION"Love is a hard thing to find." Luna smiled sweetly. Koji nodded in agreement. "Well, you keep trying. Who knows, what you could be looking might be right in front of you." Luna giggled a bit to herself then went back to the castle. Koji shook his head. He knew what she was implying. Luna was a beautiful woman. Soft gorgeous features, long luscious hair, and a full voluptuous body. Koji felt no attraction to her, though. The rest of the day went on like any other. Classes on swordsmanship, war strategies, ruling the kingdom, and etiquette. Women fawning over him. The only thing different was there was an execution, the beheading or hanging of a criminal. Those only happen every once in a while, depending on the crime rate or the boredom of the king who could be a bit barbaric. Then, late in the day, the king called a private meeting with his son. Koji went to his father's study.
INDENTION"You requested me, Father," Koji asked, cracking the door and peeking in. The desk was covered in parchment, legal papers and what not.
INDENTION"Come in and sit down, my son," King Josiah told Koji. The prince did as told, taking a seat in front of his father's desk."We need to talk about this marriage thing. I can only rule for so long. You need a wife to produce to produce a heir when you are king. But you have no interest in any of the suitable women out there which is why I am preparing an arranged marriage.
    INDENTION"But, Father--"
INDENTION"No buts, Koji, If you won't choose a bride, then I will. You are being betrothed to Princess Luna. I know her father well and her kingdom would be a great ally. The wedding is in a month."
    INDENTION"Father, please--"
INDENTION"Koji! Not another word of it. My decision is final,
    INDENTION"Yes, Father. Good night, Father."
    INDENTION"Good night, Prince."
INDENTION Koji stood, bowed, the left the study. There was nothing else he could do. It was ill-mannered to talk back or undermined your superiors and Koji had a high respect for his parents. At least all the princesses would be leaving. Koji wanted to marry for love, though, but because he was forced to. Koji sighed as he entered his room,
INDENTION"What did your father want, sire, if I may ask," Koji's servant, Joseph, asked.
INDENTION"He told me he was betrothing me to Princess Luna," the prince said as he changed into his evening clothes.
INDENTION"I see.. How very unfortunate. Being forced to marry. I am deeply sorry, You Highness."
INDENTION"No need to apologize, Joseph. It's not your fault. I suppose it is mine. There might be something wrong with me."
INDENTION"There's nothing wrong with you, my lord."
INDENTION"If you say so. Thanks, Joseph."
INDENTION"What are friends for? Good night, Prince Koji."
INDENTION"Good night, Joseph." Koji got into bed after his servant left. Before they went to sleep, the princesses were told who would be marrying the prince. The others were disappointed. Luna, on the other hand, was ecstatic. She would be marrying the most handsome, second most powerful man (He wouldn’t be the most powerful man until he was king) who she believed she loved with all her heart. Koji couldn’t really say the same.
INDENTIONThe next morning, there was a meeting of the royal counsel. King Josiah wanted Koji to be there since the prince was to be king and all. Koji dressed after he awoke and to the meeting hall with his father. As usual, Koji sat at the right of his father. The queen did not attend. Mainly just a thing among the men. Women had no business in war and taxes, etc. Koji and the king waited patiently as the room filled with the important men of the kingdom. Then Koji saw him walk into the room. A young, suave, handsome man. Sir Demetrius Firehart, Duke of Oni. Demetrius had the body of a god. Very muscular, but not overbearingly. He had beautiful thick, short brunette hair. His eyes were of two bright blue sapphires. This man was only a year and a half older than Koji and about an inch taller.
INDENTIONFor some reason to another, the prince couldn't seem to keep his eyes off the duke. He was much more interesting than a bunch of old men jabbering on about nothing. As prince, you would think Koji knew every important figure. The former duke had passed, that much Koji remember. It was a beautiful funeral. Demetrius had actually been traveling around when he got the news of his father's death. As his son, Demetrius had to take over. Obviously, this was teh first time Koji had ever seen him. Soon, the meeting was adjourned. when everyone was gone, Koji let out a silent gasp, realizing he had held his breath most of the time. It was amazing he hadn't fainted, but he sure was lightheaded.
