• What happens if you lose your happiness for the sake of your love one? What would you feel, experience, and lose? How would you cope with it? When will you break and fall? Well here's the story of a teenage girl, who experienced this and triumphed over it.

Her name is Diana, she has everything that everyone wants. Money, loving family, and great loyal friends. Diana is always happy. It's not because of what she has that made her happy, but it's how she takes care of it that makes her happy. She treasures her family and friends no matter what happens. Even If that means she would pay the price for it.

One day, Diana happens to walk over a bum who carelessly sleeps anywhere. Feeling sorry for what she had done, she kneels down and gives him fifty dollars. Smiling she heads over to the fountain and makes her wish. She wished that everyone can fulfill heir happiness and live without any regrets. She knows that only wishing on a wish will not make it come true, but it's the physical labor you put into that will give you a satisfying outcome.

Diana may seem perfect in everything, but she's not. She has a heap of trouble dealing with pre-ap calculus, but no one knows because she strive for success by studying everyday. Everyone would congradualate her with a reassuring smile, especially her family members. Diana is a sweet seventeen year old girl, that drools over guys and thinks like an ordinary seventeen year old girl.Others view her as an adult.

Diana walks back home with her best friend. Walking side by side, they talk about boys and a project that they have to do for school. The green light turned into a red light, but her friend did not notice. Diana yells at her friend to watch out, but a car was about to run over her friend. Without thinking, she pushes her friend to safety.

Diana finally wakes up an notice her mom right next to her. “Honey, how are you feeling?” Diana looks around and found herself in the hospital. She only thought about one thing. Her friend.

“How's my friend doing? Did she got hurt?” Her mom cries and kneels down.

“She's fine.” They patiently wait for the doctor.

“Mom, don't cry.” Behind her mom, Diana notice a lot of flowers, snacks, and letters. They were all from her friends and family. She smiles and eats some snacks. The doctor finally comes with a X-ray scan and gives it to her mom.

“I have bad news for you. The doctor kneels down and touches Diana's legs. “Can you feel anything?”

“No.” Afraid, Diana stares at her leg and tries to move them. “It.... wont move.”

“Your legs are paralyzed.” Diana stares at her legs with a blank expression. She's in denial.

“Doctor!” Diana's mom yells. “There must be something that we can do to fix her legs!” Her mom starts crying hard.

“I'm very sorry.” The doctor leaves the room.

Diana was in denial for more than one hour. She thought to herself, “It's only a dream.” It's only a dream.... When Diana is all by herself, she would always cry. Regretting about saving her friend and feeling dirty because of her horrible thoughts about her friend. Diana can't walk, run, or dance. She can't do anything with her legs.

Diana got released from the hospital and had a choice to got to school, but she refused. Diana is now home schooled. Diana is always on the wheelchair and always watched by her mom. “Don't look at me mom.” Is what she would always say. Diana stopped hanging out with her friends and she wouldn't even smile. It's not that she wouldn't, but theirs no reason too.

Diana's mom takes her out to get some fresh air. “Hello, young lady.” A well mannered man says. Diana, doesn't feel like to talk to a cheerful person. “You know, I met this young, cheerful, delightful girl in this same spot. She gave me fifty dollars and smiled at me.” Diana couldn't believe it. “Because of that young lady I bought myself a affordable suit and looked for a job. That young girl made my ungrateful life to something that I can love again.” He gently hugs her. “And I thank you for that.”

That fateful day, she found her happiness. “Your welcome.” Diana says crying with happy tears running down her cheeks. “I'm glad for you.” The man wipes her tears.

“You raised a great lady.” Diana's mom smiles and shakes his hand.

    “I know.”

Diana is now back to her regular, cheerful, seventeen year old girl self. In fact, she learned a life long meaning about happiness. Giving your happiness for the sake of your love ones will not always give you a good outcome, but it will make you stronger. The legs that she can't use anymore is not her weakness, but it's her strength. Whenever Diana looks at her legs, she feels a little bit bolder and stronger.
