-
Weapons lay scattered upon the ground.
The souls of the long dead
will never find peace
among this unholy land.
Remnants of a battlefield.
Crimson stains have dyed
the walls which have fallen.
No rain will ever wash away
the scarlet torment.
Remnants of a battlefield.
Lost causes have slowly faded away,
ages have passed,
and no one will remember,
the suffering to be forgotten.
Remnants of a battlefield.
I gaze upon this sight
and think to myself,
how can this be so?
When the war fought within my own heart,
was dead long ago.
Remnants of a battlefield.

- Title: Remnants of a Battlefield
- Artist: xxHuntress of the Nightxx
- Description: So I wrote this poem last year and the end of math class when I realized I had nothing to bring to Writer's Circle. Personally I think this is the best of my poems. Remnants of a Battlefield has also been published in Collected Whispers, a book filled with poems published by the International Society of Poets. Comments on it are lovely =)
