As it draws near the time again
As the rain touches the Autumn Leaves
it brings me to tears
wishing now I could hold you near
share all the memories we have
remember all the fun we'd had...
I remember than night so well
the last day you lived then fell.
I denied the possibility
that you ever would have to leave me.
I remember your deep cries
before your life carried on.
The pain I felt that day
living after seeing you that way.
Wanting to hold to the memories
thinking it could not be...
it must be a dream...
I remember crying myself to sleep
and upon waking expecting to see you there.
I miss you so much
and I'm trying so hard to smile
but I know things will never be the same
I think that's what hurts the most.
Knowing you're gone... Thinking of how much I loved you
and how much I still do.

- Description: Okay, this is a poem I wrote for my cat. I wrote this just last year, in October, which is when he died. Yes... silly to write a poem for a cat. Take in mind that he was my only real friend at the time, and I didn't really trust anyone else. Also on my Deviantart account-- http://edward-the-beloved.deviantart.com/ I have a comic type thing for it too, but it's not scanned yet. Will be up as soon as I get home to use the scanner next month.

- This is a really well written poem. And it is not silly to write a poem to remember a loved one, human or not. This poem can, and very well may speak to anyone who has lost a loved one. It spoke to me about my cat who died four years ago. 5/5

- Well, even if you wrote it for your cat, it is still a pretty poem, and honestly doesn't sound like it is written for a cat. It sounds like you're thinking of a person who died. But regardless, good job.
