numbed and drained
sapped of fecund thoughts
this trajectory maimed
by chemical imbalance
adrenalin un-detained

a fear awakened from slumber
assumed gone but remained
a re-occurring nightmare
leaving sheets sweat stained
a fragile wall smashed

in floods the anxiety and pain
drowning the once strong bliss
a cycle retold with disdain
after each blissful verse
this endlessly repeated refrain

my spine flushed
radiating out my extremities
paralyzing
lifting me out of body
embracing anguish unspoken
