-
She floated delicately
Bound without restraints by the air.
Feet: embraced by pale, stiff, shoes;
Jumps - twelve of a kind, in perfect rhythm.
In the leaps, a lion's strength.
The falls, the softness of a doe.
Did someone tell her
Where to go?
What little flicks of the hand she should preform
To make the audience weep?
What did she want
Outside of that lonely, constricting, stage?
For that matter, what did I want?
Who would care?
She flies again,
A quick apology to gravity for always refusing to comply.
In that moment, the dance is her own.
