• It's what they said -
    She was alright,
    Perfectly normal;
    Got enough sleep at night.
    Long blond hair,
    Soulful green eyes,
    Popular amongst others;
    Not at all shy.
    An average girl,
    With an average life,
    Yet did anyone know when it changed -
    When she tested the knife?
    She smiled at them all,
    She laughed at their jokes,
    Did anyone know that
    When they smelled the cigarette smoke?
    She was as normal as they got;
    Like every other normal child,
    She did what she did,
    Just to hide the pot.
    Indeed, she was like them,
    One of the cliques,
    One of the liars;
    So healthy yet so sick.
    It was as they said -
    She was alright,
    She was perfectly normal,
    A shadow in the light.
    But because of indifference,
    Because of being the same,
    She was finally gone,
    And she was the only one to blame.
    They cried at her funeral,
    They cried at the thought,
    That she was perfectly normal,
    And now they wished she was not.
