Compare something to an image. John Dunne wrote a great piece on seduction called "the Flea" of all things where the mingling of blod in a flea becomes sexy if you can believe that (cause it actually works). When you compare your feelings and actions to images readers can picture in their own way, you add so much more weight and power to your words. This just doesn't cut because it is devoid of imagery ...
