• Staring out into the shimmering light
    And envying its vast freedom
With wings as black as cloudless night
    Trapped in her unlikely kingdom

    She sits there, all alone
    Perched on a wooden branch
The feeling of liberty, She has known
    Yet is unable to catch

But one lucky day, on a bright, sunny time
    The cage had swung ajar
The inviting chirps, to Her, were chimes
And She was excited to fly as far

She readied herself and those wings
    Those wings of cloudless night
As she takes off, she happily sings
    Soaring into the shimmering light
