    I never truly thought of

    A life beyond
    My own.

    And now that I am older,
    Some things just start to show.
    I have a vague idea
    At the life in which my parents lived.
    No matter how much I think of it,

    A life like theirs is beyond me.
    Never had I thought of them
    Disappearing from my life.

    Subconsciously I guess I knew
    Of the time that is ticking

    Away from them.
    Raging through me is an
    Emptiness so deep

    My mind
    Yearns for the emotions

    Placed deep within me to show itself to
    Assure me that I can feel,
    Reassure me that I am real.
    Even as I think of this,
    Nothing I could say or feel would
    Tell me that I can
    Say goodbye.

    A life beyond
    My own.

    And now that I am older,
    Life just passes me by.
    In this present that I am in,
    Vast new knowledge comes to me.
