• I was slowly drifting to the ocean floor,
Being pulled by down by the desperation of death.
I watched as the suns rays poured onto the coral.
    I exhaled.
Bubbles spilled into to water drifting downwards with me,
Like diamonds running away from the gold.
    Saltwater poured into my lungs.
Burning as I searched for air.
I plunged into the surface, gasping for breath.
    Why? Why hadn’t I died?
I opened my eyes and then closed them.
The sun ran through my eyelids as I bobbed in the water.
I was back where I started.
    Alive.
