• Twas the night before christmas,
    And all through the house,
    Every creature was sleeping,
    Including the mouse,

    But not me, oh no,
    I was busy plopping,
    Some things in my buggy,
    From some last minute shopping,

    When I finally got home,
    I was tired and weary,
    Ready to lie down,
    Yet something felt dreary,

Then I heard a voice say,
    Now what about me?,
    As I spun around fast,
And then fell to my knees,

    Then I realized,
    That no one was around,
    Yet I heard it again,
    That questioning sound,

    You did all the shopping,
    And now you're all done,
    But what about me?,
    Where have I gone?,

    You haven't prayed once,
    Not even for dinner,
As for you're to do list,
    It's getting thinner,

    Devotions are gone,
    Prayer's been taken away,
    And you don't notice me,
    Even on my birthday,

    I realized now,
That the voice was the Lord,
    I'm sorry I said,
    I'll notice you more,

    And not just me, no,
    there's more to do,
    You must also love,
    You're children too,

    I'll try Lord,
    I honestly will,
    I know toys aren't enough,
    To pay their bill,

    It never happened again,
    And I always remind us,
    We should give extra care,
    To the Lord on Christmas!
