• The Grandfather Clock

    For years and years,
    I’ve ticked and tocked.
I have been hit, scraped and even knocked.
I’ve met many people in my life time,
    People of all races,
    With many different colour faces.
I’ve been to China, Africa and imported to Spain.
I have been around the globe many a time,
Now I’m worth a million, before I was worth a dime.
Now I’m in a warehouse, locked up again,
It’s cold, dusty and silent too.
Soon I’ll be exported; maybe I’ll end up with you.
