• Life Is Just a Tree-House

    Life is just a tree-house.
    When you build that tree-house
You’re always climbin’ to build more
    Up higher in that tree,
    Afraid you’re gonna fall,
Afraid you’re gonna nail a board in crooked.
You never know when some wood will fall down
But you’re already so high up
You can’t go back down and get it.
    But you keep buildin’.
    And when it’s all finished,
    It’s like your home.
You go up there all the time
    It’s your safe haven
Even though you hear the wood creakin’
And feel the whole thing swayin’.
    You just stay up there,
    ‘Cause it’s too late.
This is the tree-house you built
And it’s too much work to start all over again.
You know that at any minute all your work can go down the drain
But you keep it the way it is,
‘Cause you don’t know any other way
    To build a tree-house,
The way you build your life.
