Two Robins
As I sit on the grass, I dream.
It is the time of dark sky with shards of light from crystal stars
And silver moon shining down upon the earth.
As I look up at its glow, I see the moon winking
Like a small reassurance in a dark horizon.
Two flashes catch my eye. At first glance,
One would only see two dark outlines perched on a stone.
I see two feathered creatures, natural singers of the sky,
Above as brown as pine,
Below as red as the rising sun.
And they sing. O marvelous song that fills me
With joy and peace. Flying in circles, calling lovingly to each other...
They perch ever so gracefully upon a tree,
Together watching the silver moon.
One raises its voice to the night stars.
They raise their wings and take to the sky, away.
Gone! Gone, away and forever as leaves in the wind.
Into the now brief scarlet sky, into the shards
Of crystal-silver light and the dusky air.
It is truly a magnificent sight.
My troubles are over, anxiety vanished.
My feet carry me out of the glade back home.
Peace overcomes me; today is a new day, with new joy and wonders.
And tonight, under the crystal-silver light, I shall return to the glade
And watch as two birds sing together, under the night sky.

Description:
Heh...this is something I wrote in 6th grade a few years ago, when my class was given a poetry assignment...that's when I really got into poetry. This is the unabridged version of my favorite poem of that assignment. I thought it was pretty good at the time... -_-'
