The Deeds of Macbeth
Good deeds form good men,
If you had but done now as then
A fateful day may never have been
Oh! If only things could be done again.
Honorable and Worthy once were you named
A golden man whom received his fame.
Whispered fortunes make life a game,
Had you but not listened to your dame.
The first dagger you thrust into an innocent heart,
Reluctant were you to play the part.
Regret and sorrow made you smart
If only you had stayed apart.
Crown of gold upon your head,
Your best friend you ordered dead.
An unhappy kingdom you have led.
Now you have everything left to dread.
Cries of anguish and betrayal
Your face has become so pale.
Barely stable against this relentless gale
Innocent people did you fail.
Traitor, villain, and tyrant you are called,
You behavior with you have appalled,
Slaughtered, upon the floor sprawled
And so, Macbeth did fall.

- Description: This was a school assignment for my English class last semester. We had just finished Shakespeare's Macbeth. It's...an interesting play, not my personal favorite. I'm more of a Romeo and Juliet kind of girl. Anyway, if you've ever read Macbeth, you will understand this poem. Heck, if you only know a general outline of the story you can probably understand this poem.

- Very good poem. It has eloquent rhythm, and a very good design. It has a little room for improvement on the last four lines, but overall it's a good poem. If you can find the time, read over my poems. ^_^ I critique for free, btw. Have a wonderful day!
