• Concrete Angel

Sitting down, looking at the blank screen, her thoughts wonder. Putting her fingers to the black, smooth key board, she started to type. The sound of the clacking of the keys couldn’t make her life any better.

    “Chapter One:
    Feuds”

Reads the title. The girl hears another fight, hears crying, and yelling. People slamming things, once again, life is starting to look bad. Her life has been always like this. Once again she started to type.

“There was a girl named Angel.
    Her family always fought,
    Not once was there peace.”

No one would care for this girl. No one would. She only had a few friends; even then, she wasn’t sure if they were really her true friends.

    “And if there was peace…
    It didn’t last.”

This girl wanted an easy way out. But for her, there wasn’t. She couldn’t kill herself, she was to nervous to try. The girl tried popping pills, but couldn’t keep up with it.

    “Sure she had friends,
    She would tell them,
    They wouldn’t listen.”

Her thoughts didn’t matter… Her set future was huge, but no one would let her reach her goals. Slowly this girl would wither away, no one cared.

“No matter how hard people pushed her,
    She would always pull through.
    She wouldn’t give up…
    Not now.”

Finally, she got into high school. Her freshmen year was so far great. She had a few bad grades, but easily pulled them up.

    “Getting grades where hard.”

One day in February, her family got into a fight. This would alter her life. Her step-brother and father had gotten into a fight, a fist fight at that.

    “As they tumbled and fought,
    She laid in bed.
Wishing there was away for her to be free.
    Angel wanted to scream out.
She had gotten out of bed, running down the hall.
Seeing her father fighting, she yelled.”

Father was sent to jail, oh joy. Her father had failed her once more. Daddy’s little girl was no more. Her love and respect for him was now burning, in the pit of fire in her eyes.
