Toy Soldier

A little toy girl
Playing with her little toy soldier
In a little toy house
Always together and never apart
Inseparable
Until that day had come
And little to soldier had to go to do what he was made to do
Leaving the little toy girl alone in their little toy house
Hoping that her little toy soldier would come back to her
Time passes and little toy girl sits waiting for her little toy soldier
Until one day when there’s a knock on at the door
The little toy girl runs to the door with tears in her eyes
Hoping to embrace her little toy soldier once again
But as she opens the door
It’s not her little toy soldier who she sees
But another toy soldier holding a small toy flag
And the little toy girl falls to the ground with an empty face
Realizing now
That her little toy soldier
Isn’t coming home again.
