• Once Upon A Time

    Once upon a time
A father picks up his son and tells him he'll be the brighter one.
And as he holds this sleeping baby
He cant help but think maybe
Maybe he will be like me
And do the things I shouldn't have done
Only thinking in terms of having fun
And how disappointed he would be
If he didn't make it past the age of twenty three
    Putting the sleeping baby down
He tried to hide his inner frown
I shouldn't have to say this but once
He said putting his hands on his gut
Be better than I'll ever be because I tell you son
Nothing in the world is free
    Once upon a time
    Mother laughs with her daughter
Wishing she wouldn't be another piece of fodder
To the cruel world that awaits
And one she will learn about even before she turns eight
    With the trends and labels
She hopes she will be able
To think on her own and wait till shes grown
Before she would do what her dear mother has done
Only thinking in terms of having fun
    And how disappointed she would
If her daughter had kid around the age of twenty three
Not for the fact that she would be so young
But for the fact that she might not have the funds
Watching the sleeping baby move around
She tired to hide her inner frown
I shouldn't have to say this but once
she said putting her hands in her hair
Be better than I'll ever be because I tell you daughter
Nothing in the world is free
