• One Mistake

    You think it's a game,
    So simple and fun.
    But with just one mistake,
    Your life's over and done.

With the sweep of a knife,
    Cutting into a vein,
    Your hiss from the pain,
    As your blood slowly drains.

    Your swallow some meds,
In the shape of a pill.
    Hoping and wishing,
That the pain it will kill.

    You take a few more,
Since you find it's not working.
    If only you knew,
    That Death was now lurking.

    Your breathing gets hitched,
    Your blood stops flowing,
    Death inches nearer,
While your heart is now slowing.

    It pumps once more,
    And your body goes slack.
    Your eyes glaze over,
    Then the world goes black.

You thought it was a game,
    So simple and fun.
    But with just one mistake,
Your life's now over and done.
