I had a little secret
That I was 12 weeks pregnant,
But that secret blew
When the foetus didn’t grow.
So I sit upon the throne
To watch the red blood flow.
Do I cry, I may sigh,
Yet the signs are nigh.
Me, a mother, I was ready
But somehow wasn’t baby,
My hubby’s arms feel shaky
Around my empty belly
As the tears that will shed
Dry clear upon my bed.
I had a little secret
That I was 12 weeks pregnant,
But the secret faded
When I finally miscarried.
A tiny little black bean
Upon the paper, seen;
So tiny as my pinkie nail
On the throne, I wailed.
I mourn for that little bean
My tears a steady stream
As I watched the water flow
I wonder why she failed to grow
My little secret, now a dream,
Farewell, my darling little bean.
