    just another one syllable word
    that people try to put meaning to
    a word that our parents teach
    to make us feel hope is real?

    may it just be a word
    how can we know hope
    how can we feel hope

    what is hope
    a feeling to want something to happen
    a crave perhaps
    something a greedy child wants

    how can we be sure hope is hope
    when you hope somebody saves you
    can hope do anything to save you

    facing the truth
    hope helps you not
    is hope perhaps wishing

    and maybe wishing can do nothing for you
    just a greedy wish?
    i must ask
    why do we have hope
    who installed it
    who made us think hope is real

    can hope help us
    did God make us believe hope
    should we hope we go to heaven

    hope is not something special
    hope is just another one syllable word
    that people put meaning to
    when they had nothing else to do
