I know what you mean. I'm going through the exact same thing, but I always thought of his happiness before mine, so I left him alone so he'd forget me, and it'll all be easier that way. I know that me forgetting him is out of the question, but that's why at least one of us must forget, so at least one of us feels no more pain.
