We’re Not Kids Anymore
From crayons to pens
From hope to fate
From Silliness to maturity
Time does not wait
Our innocence kept us smiling
Those kids broke our hearts
And even with our scars
We were never torn apart
From little white lies
To lifestyles all changed
Our open little hearts
Became closed and rearranged
Friends beginning with smiles
Now judging by the clothes
What’s in or out this time
Nobody seems to know
Crying from a paper cut
Those wounds would always heal
But loosing those close to us
Nothing, anymore, seems real
From eating gummy bears
To smoking and doing crack
If you really look at it
The world’s gone outta wack
To our parents we were shadows
We could never leave their side
But now we are like enemies
And time keeps going by
Now we’re fighting a war
Against each other and our selves
We’re full of wounds and drama
Have secrets we can not tell
We’ve lost our selves to each other
Everyone wants to fit in
And even after all this time
The judging never ends
From innocence to maturity
The world cuts us to the core
And soon we have to realize
We’re not kids anymore
