• Like the days of childhood
    White and perfect
    As each flake descends
    The memories pass by
    Never forgotten

    Each year I wait
    Anxious for the first snowfall
    Just to revisit
    Just to rekindle
    Each enjoyable moment

    Depressingly, perfection fades
    Becoming black and grey
Just as life tends to do

So I sit and wait patiently
    For the year to pass
To see the first snowfall of the new year
For my soul to be cleansed
