• The good side of 'Dark'

Like a veil, the gloomy sky
    let's its tears called rain
    fall unto the green leaves
    I pass each day
    My heart throbs with pain
as my sight fades with darkness

The light is overcome by darkness
As the sun falls the blue sky
    becomes dark and the rain
turns to ice and kills the leaves
    I pass again this day
and my heart contracts with pain

    Overwhelmed by sorrow and pain
I fall to my knees in the darkness
My eyes take to the sky
As my body is once more pelted with rain
The wind caresses the wilted leaves
    I stared at that day

    The light is returning today
warming me and healing my pain
The warmth breaks through the darkness
I glance anxiously up at the sky
and finally, finally, there was no rain
Dew stays upon those newly green leaves

    My eyes grasp the leaves
    As I ponder each day
    What will become of pain
    will something slaughter the darkness
will clouds ever again darken the sky
    and what of rain?

I look out the window as rain
begins to drizzle against the green leaves
but it is different this day
    I felt no pain
    There was no darkness
and an arc of colors lit up the sky
