• HELTER SHELTER
    UC Poika

the fear of rejection and literal physical pain
complete with bruises and sometimes broken bones
he's drunk, he's angry, an abuser in every way
like strong winds blowing the limbs of the forest aground...
the screams yelled in curses, the tears, and sobbing refrains
mixing with emotions that don't belong by themselves alone
not to mention they last for years and not just days
and jump out at you in reruns of memories and sounds
with no place to hide and no place to run but at home
in hellish despair without an end in your sights
like shaking even while writing such awful poems
unable to leave imprisoned mostly by the fright
but in the shelter just try to think yourself asleep
heartbroken but feeling pity for abusive creeps
