I watch over you everyday
my sour faced angel.
I know what you once put on
(the darkened eyes and brightened lips).
I know what you once left off
(the shapely Cardigan).
It was not in your hands then
(the shadowy pistol).
It was in your hands later
(The map to freedom's way).
I watch over you everyday.
You had left without putting it on
(the darkened eyes and brightened lips)
but they all knew just how you liked it
they couldn’t forget.
So they painted it on,
(the visage of someone who lived).
