• Sailing across my lavender fog
On a quest to recover something more
    While the sleeping dogs
    They howl a direction I can’t comprehend
    Night as my shroud
    I journey on my own
Making sure I’m not too loud
For I can’t risk being caught
    I’m all I’ve got
Until I can find what I’ve set out to find
    And it’s not a figment
Not a joke set up by my beating mind
    Furiously dreaming
    That I’m not dreaming
    The crickets say sleep
As they chirp with their hinds a tune
I can almost hear the sheep
    Counting and begging me please
    Rest your tired eyes
    Silver reverie butterflies
Let them spray their silken dust
    Create a story web
    Of your undying lust
For what you long to find
But child first take a nap
    Give your body a break
Pretend you’re in your lover’s lap
    He’s still waiting
    He’s not leaving
    So rest your restless head
    He’ll be waiting
    He’ll be staying
