So pure in heart she has no reflection
Assassin of wills, ambassadors fail
So how many drives have been sacrificed
Tempted to realize what, and where, she hides
Or uncover the grindstone that quickens
Visible cover of faux pas wassail
War brews within her, peace simmers without
Chalance of its own destruction feeding
Appetites and alibis perjury
Mocks from the plush morning stage, still sweeping
If only ends were called to justify
This aimless trail and the search for meaning
As close as was ever possible, we
Assumed the world so ripe would turn our way
Never turn out to turn its back on us
We did our duty, their time to choose shade
Set the motion then sadly fell victim
Hunted down like dogs with no taste for prey
Partners always carry each other's backs
Stories rehearsed to negate all the facts
Not followed or traced, hid even from guilt
But flowers uprooted certainly wilt
Leaving one behind still burdens two lives
No queen dares survive from leaving the hive
War brews within her, peace simmers without
Chalance of its own destruction feeding
Appetites and alibis perjury
Mocks from the plush morning stage, still sweeping
If only ends were called to testify
Throughout this trial for loss of meaning
To my dearest darling immaculate
Plentiful pardons now inoculate
Influence above freed us this hour
Forgiving me is out of your power
If ever misguided vengeance welcomed
So pure in heart she has no reflection,
Not even a name.
Not even a name could stand to betray.
