The moon shines brightly.
Turning the trees to silver.
The lake's surface glimmers with starlight, while a being looks on.
The sun rises,brilliant and golden
but no birdsong answers.
The once-great forest is no more.
Watching as others smile and have fun.
Wishing you could join.
Put on a stoic face, pretend that you don't care, but broken on the inside.
The unrelenting despair turns to rage.
The dark wings of hatred unfold.
A demon is born.
Grief clouds his amber gaze,
as he realizes that he will never see HER again.
Her violet eyes will never again spark with life, but be dull and sightless.
She looks at the face of the one she loves.
His eyes are open but glazed, never to see the sun again.
Never to burn with intensity again
