• Here, my own son, is our story so far,
though we pres'ly wait for rules to obey.
God guided us with smoke during the day,
and guide us at night with fire from a star.

When all Egypt came toward us to kill,
God made us an escape through the sea.
No foe follow, though we know where they be,
asleep with death, beneath the sea now still.

When the water was too biter to drink,
God made it sweet for us with a logs' wood.
After we drank, we went on like we should,
we then camped where there were 12 springs, I think.

We were starved, so we complained on the way,
and so God let bread rain down from the sky.
It tasted sweet, but we didn't ask why,
it was all maggoty by the next day.

We moved on, then, we were about
to die, God told Moses to go and hit
a rock, and water poured out as it split.
When we were close to death, God helped us out.

When Ameleck came toward us to fight,
Moses foresaw the battle from high land.
We won when Moses rose his staff in hand,
but soon his arms began to lose their might.

His arms were tired and weak under the sun,
we started to lose when his arms had dropped.
Aran and Hur made sure his arms were propped,
through a long battle, in the end we won.

Then Is'rel camped at the foot of a mount,
and the top was shrouded by a black cloud.
The fire so hot and the Thunder so loud,
Mose' was up there for days too long to count.

When Moses came down with the law in hand,
and then forced the idolaters defeat.
Walked past the rubble, and then retreat,
he now sits with God above the land.

When you think 'bout when God stretched out his hand,
and saved all Is'rel by parting the sea.
My son, please do not forget about me,
when Israel enters the promise land.
