• Common Enemy

    We fought before he came,
    We'd scream and we'd yell,
And on each other we would blame,
    The broken dishes,
    and unswept floors.

    Then we lost someone,
    and gained a Common Enemy.

    We bonded over loss,
    And grew with our hate.
    When we lost someone,
    We gained a Common Enemy.

    The Enemy finds us,
No matter where we might hide,
And no matter how much we plead,
    The Enemy gains support
From the only one we trusted.

    When we lost someone,
As soon as he was gone,
    We gained a Common Enemy,
He moved right into a place he shouldn't of fit.

The Enemy took over our safe place,
    Where we were promised love.
The Enemy came and stole my mother's heart.
